My dad and I took a fun little adventure to Kings Park and Cottesloe Beach on Sunday. Part of Kings Park overlooks downtown Perth and has a great view of Swan River as well. The park is huge, but we only explored the bit with the nice view of the city. There were really awesome/cool trees and one was even the Queen's tree, that she planted long ago. And the surrounding neighborhood, absolutely gorgeous houses! After walking around Kings Park, we hopped in the car for a drive down to Cottesloe Beach. When we got there, it was crazy. All sorts of hotel/hostel-like places brought tons of people out to the local bars and people were partying it up on a Sunday evening. The beach was packed, since the day had brought excellent weather. But seeing as how it's a very popular beach, there was garbage strewn from one place to the other and, of course, drunk people everywhere! It's nothing like the beaches close to dad and Irena's house, which are conveniently located away from all the large crowds. But it was nice, nonetheless, to watch the sunset fall over Cottesloe Beach.
