Orientation started yesterday at Joondalup campus and today at Mount Lawley campus, so I've now explored both campuses thoroughly along with receiving my id card with a SmartRider train/bus card. I rode the train for the first time to get back from orientation yesterday, always a bit nerve-racking the first time. Today dad and I spent some time together after viewing Mount Lawley campus. We drove along the beach road and stopped a few places along the way. In one of the parking lots I got to drive my dad's ute (utility truck) in which I managed to turn the windshield wipers on instead of the blinkers almost instantly. It takes a bit of getting used to, but I think I'll pick it up fairly quick. Dad and I are also slowly piecing together the old VolksCycle bike, still having to put the back break, front and back derailleurs, chain, and pedals on to make it complete. But in no time I'm sure I'll be getting some nice longs rides in.
